Stonecreek decision page

Stonecreek, Fort McMurray

Stonecreek fits families who want a newer street, trails close by, and room to grow.

Stonecreek was still bare land when the city plan was written in 2007, and part of it was rebuilt after the 2016 fire. So two homes on the same street can be very different ages. Ask the build year on every listing.

Stonecreek

Newer streets and trails. Ask the build year.

  • Ask the build year on every listing
  • Ask what was rebuilt after 2016
  • Live Stonecreek solds before price talk

No set monthly cost or cash to close for Stonecreek here. Ask Will for live sold prices.

Planning numbers only. Confirm live rates, legal fees, and Matrix before you decide.

Updated by Will Clarke, RE/MAX Connect.

Ask the build year first. Then ask if the home was rebuilt after 2016, and what is new.

Look at what is behind the back fence. Green space and a busy road live very different.

Ask about the garage and the driveway on every listing. Do not assume.

Will pulls live Stonecreek solds before you talk price. No borrowing numbers from Timberlea or Eagle Ridge.

About Stonecreek

Stonecreek or Stone Creek?

City plans spell it Stonecreek. Some city pages and Wikipedia say Stone Creek. Same place. Before it had a name, the city plan called this land Parcel F.

Where it sits

Stonecreek is in Timberlea, on the north side of Confederation Way and west of Highway 63. The land is shaped like a peninsula, with steep slopes on the east, west, and north. The plan gave it a stone theme, which is why you see street names like Limestone Link and Riverstone Ridge.

Trails and disc golf

The 2007 city plan called for a trail along the top of the bank and a walkway down the pipeline right of way through the middle. The region also built a free disc golf course in Stonecreek, near Limestone Link, with short and long tees.

The 2016 fire

The 2016 wildfire burned many homes in Stonecreek. By that November, crews were already rebuilding. That is why newer rebuilds sit beside homes that made it through.

Shopping close by

Stoney Creek Village is the shopping area that serves Stonecreek. Note the spelling. The shopping centre is Stoney Creek. The neighbourhood is Stonecreek.

Before you buy in Stonecreek

Get the build year and ask if the home is a 2016 rebuild. Ask what backs onto the lot: slope, trail, or road. Check the garage and driveway size in person. Ask which public and Catholic schools serve the street. Then compare it to Stonecreek solds only.

Next door

Stonecreek is part of the Timberlea area. Eagle Ridge is close by, and Parsons Creek is just north. If Stonecreek is close but not quite right, those are the next places to look.
