The region says Anzac is about 45 km southeast of Fort McMurray on the east shore of Gregoire Lake. It is home to Willow Lake Métis Nation and sits next to Fort McMurray First Nation #468 and Gregoire Lake Estates.

The 2025 census counted 659 people in Anzac. It has a volunteer fire department, the Anzac Recreation Centre, stores, restaurants, schools, and daycare.

The plan sends traffic down Stony Mountain Road to Highway 881. The backup is Singer Drive to Highway 881. The bus muster point is the Anzac Recreation Centre at 237 Stony Mountain Road.
